April 17th Wine Tasting Notes

3rd Thursday Wine Tasting
April 17th, 4:30-6:30pm
Casual & Complimentary (of course!)

Segura Vuidas Aria Sparkling Pinot Noir $8.99
Presents an attractive strawberry pale color, bright and transparent. This sparkler has abundant bubbles, with fruity aromas and flavors of raspberry, currant and pomegranate. It is light and has a sweet touch that spreads in the palate.
87 Points- Wine Enthusiast.

Buena Vista Carneros Chardonnay $18.99
Buena Vista is one of California's oldest premium wineries. The combination of apple, Asian pear, citrus rind, caramel and minerals screams Carneros from start to finish. Rich, pure and forward, winemaker Jeff Stewart’s Carneros Chardonnay beautifully conveys site, variety and vintage.
90 Points- Wine Enthusiast “Editors’ Choice”.

Croney Three Ton Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc $12.99
Abundant sunshine, with cool nights and a long growing season helped to build and maintain the vibrant fruit flavors for which Marlborough is famous; this full-bodied wine has aromas and flavors of lime, pear, kiwi, passion fruit, and fresh mown grass leading to a creamy textured finish. While the bulk of the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and rested on the lees for four months prior to bottling, a tiny portion (4%) was barrel fermented in new French oak barrels to add complexity.

Cono Sur Vision Colchugua Pinot Noir $12.99
Cono Sur Winery takes its name from the shape of South America, the “Southern Cone”. The winery is located in Chimborongo, which lies in the acclaimed Colchagua Valley of Chile. The VisiĆ³n line is stylish wine with a limited production, selected for their concentration and complexity, structure and character. This wine has aromas and flavors of blackberry, plum, and smoky oak.
88 Points- Wine Spectator, 86 Points- Wine Enthusiast.

Vina Dona Paula Lujan di Cuyo Malbec $12.99
Solid, with a juicy core of red plum, raspberry and red licorice flavors backed by alluring spice and floral notes on the finish.

Boekenhoutskloof The Wolftrap $9.99
Boekenhoutskloof (pronounced boo–ken–hoots-kloof) crafts amazing South African wines. Best known for their Chocolate Block, this winery founded in 1776 is run by winemaker Marc Kent. Dark red-black color with spice, bacon and wood on the nose. Smooth, smokey bacon and spice flavors overshadow subdued, mellow cherry and blackberry fruit. Dry, light mouthfeel with good structure and a black currant finish.
